FREE Suave Deodorant at Kroger and Possible Policy Change

So yesterday I went to Kroger to pick up this week’s deals, and came across a GREAT unadvertised deal for the Central VA area.  Suave deodorant is on sale until 4/15 for $1.00!  For our area, we received a $0.50/1 coupon in the RP 3/18 that will DOUBLE to make this absolutely free!

 

Also, when I went on my run I was advised by the cashier that Kroger policy is to accept only 5 coupons per product.  So if you are getting 20 Ragu, for instance, you will have to do 4 transactions of 5 each.  This is new to me, and I was too irritated at the hassle of it all to speak to a store manager.  I will be getting confirmation on this by the end of the weekend (hopefully today).

How to Spot a Stockpile Price

To make sure you aren’t spending too much on your stockpile, it is a good idea to start your own price sheet.  For those of us who are just starting out, The Krazy Coupon Lady has created a WONDERFUL starter list and has given me permission to share it.  The list appears in the book Pick Another Checkout Lane, Honey, and has already helped me a ton!

 

KCL’s list is not all-inclusive, however.  There are no prices for pet items.  I have created my own list (based on Central VA’s prices) for pet care products.  If there is something you buy a lot of (like fish or microwaveable dinners) that you don’t see on the list and have an idea of what a good stock price would be, please share!  I am always looking to expand my list so that I can guarantee that I get the lowest prices.

 

Feel free to print these lists out and put them in your binder for a quick reference. 

 

Also, PLEASE keep in mind these lists are just for reference.  Some areas have better prices, while some areas have higher prices.  Don’t feel bad if you can’t find the exact same stock price.  For instance, I have not seen buffalo sauce cheaper than $0.50 a bottle in Central VA (at least not yet!), but I have been able find deodorant for $0.25 or less, which is much cheaper than other places.

Kroger Deals 3/18 – 3/24

This week’s deal is mostly the same from last week.  The March Mega Savings event is still going on, so be sure to stock up on your items before the sale ends on Saturday.  There is one new item on the ad, however, that has me excited silly: RAGU 10/$10!!!!  Dad 2 advised me last week that they were planning on having Ragu on sale soon, and I am glad it is sooner rather than later.  Although my hubby doesn’t like a lot of pasta, I am planning on incorporating more into our diet (just don’t tell him about it ;D).  There are still some coupons on eBay for Ragu, so make sure to get some if you already haven’t!

 

Scenario:

Buy 10 Ragu Sauce = $9.90

– $0.50/1 coupon (eBay)

= FREE!!!

 

Free is my favorite word, and on an item like this it makes me shiver with anticipation and excitement.  You can expect to see some pasta go on sale soon, too.  Barilla pasta is part of the mega event, so if you buy 10 Barilla pasta you can get them for $1.49 each.  Kroger pasta is also 10/$10, so if you don’t mind buying generic, you can get 10 boxes of pasta AND 10 jars of sauce for $10.00!!!  This means each item is only $0.50!  I recommend waiting until the pasta is free, but if you are in desperate need of some pasta this is still a good 2-3 month stock up price.

 

There are some great deals on produce this week, too.  If you are running low on fresh veggies, this is the week to buy!
